I’m so excited to finally share the Love Squared Quilt Pattern—my second quilt pattern released to the public and a project that’s been a true labor of love.

Love Squared is a modern heart quilt design that combines simple patchwork, clean sashing, and a flexible layout that works beautifully as either a table runner or a throw quilt. Whether you’re sewing for your home, a gift, or just because you love hearts (same!), this pattern is designed to be approachable, enjoyable, and satisfying to finish.

Designed for the Confident Beginner

When I designed Love Squared, I had confident beginners in mind—quilters who know their way around a rotary cutter and a ¼” seam, but still appreciate clear instructions and thoughtful construction.

This pattern uses:

• Straightforward cutting
• Traditional piecing (no curves or paper piecing)
• Repeated block construction for confidence and rhythm
• Clear diagrams and step-by-step instructions

If you’re newer to quilting but ready to stretch your skills just a bit, this pattern is a great next step.

A Heart Design with a Modern Twist

At the heart (literally!) of this pattern are two simple blocks:

• Heart blocks, which add warmth and personality
• 9-Patch blocks, which ground the design and give it a classic feel

Sashing between the blocks keeps the layout clean and modern, and it also makes the pattern easy to scale across sizes. The alternating blocks and rows create visual interest without complicated construction—perfect for letting your fabric choices shine.

Multiple Sizes, Endless Possibilities

The Love Squared Quilt Pattern includes instructions for three sizes:

• Table Runner – a quick, satisfying project
• Small Throw – perfect for couches or gifting
• Large Throw – cozy and impactful

You can make it exactly as shown using solids, or switch things up with a scrappy version using fat eighths or fat quarters for the heart blocks. Both options are included in the pattern, so you can choose the style that fits your space and your stash.

Thoughtfully Written Instructions

As a quilter myself, I know how important good instructions are. This pattern includes:

• Clear fabric requirements and cutting charts
• Size-neutral construction steps (so you can focus on sewing, not math)
• Helpful diagrams and layout guidance
• Coloring pages to plan your quilt before you cut

My goal was to create a pattern that feels calm and encouraging—something you can enjoy sewing without second-guessing every step.

Releasing Love Squared feels extra special because it’s my second publicly released quilt pattern. Designing it helped me grow as a quilter and pattern writer, and I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported, and encouraged me along the way.
